2:41 (2022)

This film was my first directorial role. ‘2:41’ is about a girl who suffers from insomnia. In her attempt to counteract this, she takes more sleeping pills than advised which leads to the film taking a dark turn. We begin seeing her getting ready for bed, then follow her into her bedroom as she attempts to fall asleep. Failing this she takes the first sleeping pill and after an hour or so passes she gets out of bed in frustration and cleans her room to pass the time. Attempting once more to get back to sleep, and failing, she hesitantly takes a second pill, knowing she shouldn’t. This is where our story turns darker as she starts to have a nightmare, or is it a nightmare? Our ending suggests otherwise as we decided to finish with a suspenseful image to leave the audience questioning whether her nightmare was in fact real life.
